We have a wide range of events taking place at our libraries. If there's something you'd like to go to, follow the button to find times and locations.

Game night in the Reading Room

Join in at a relaxed and social evening of board gaming. Each month we play games with a different theme. Whether you're an experienced player or completely new to board games, we'll have a friendly guide on hand to get you started.

You can also check out the Sheffield Board Game Library, which is free to use for library members during opening hours and you can play in the Central Library Reading Room.

Take a look at our eventbrite page to find a game night and book your spot.

Reading Groups

If you're an experienced reader or you want to try reading some of the classics, our reading groups are a great opportunity to share your interest with others while reading some great books. We support hundreds of book clubs across the city and host many of them in our libraries.

If you're interested in starting your own reading group you can borrow 10 book sets from one of our libraries to begin one. We have a wide range of titles from classic literature to thrillers, sci-fi and biographies.

Coffee mornings, craft groups and other social activities

We offer a wide range of social activities that are free for members. If you want to learn new skills or just chat with people in your area about things that interest you, these groups are a great opportunity to get out in your community.

Computer classes - regular sessions for beginners

We have beginner computer classes taking place across our Sheffield libraries. We can help you learn how to use your computer and the internet, whether you want to shop and socialise online or you need to learn some skills for your job.
