You can search the following Sheffield newspapers on British Newspaper Archive:

  • Sheffield Independent, 1819 to 1900
  • Sheffield Daily Telegraph, 1855 to 1903
  • Sheffield Evening Telegraph, 1887 to 1897

There are no indexes for material before 1930, however staff may be able to suggest ways of tracing the information you require.
