SEN Service Manager

We are seeking to recruit a leader who can ensure that the team they lead will build on the improvements of the last 12 months and ensure a high quality service to children and their families. 

Our ambition is to support all children and young people to enjoy their childhood and reach their full potential. Our goal is to consistently place the child at the centre of our social work practice and to design and provide services that reflect the child’s voice and are appropriate to their level of unmet need.

To make sure that we deliver the best possible outcomes for children, we want to ensure that we recruit and retain the best possible social workers. In return, we will make sure that they are rewarded.

Our social workers are located in small teams of 6 across the city, managed and supported by a range of highly trained social work professionals, with newly qualified social workers having dedicated 1:1 social work consultant support to ensure they gain their fitness to practice certificate. Caseloads are maintained at a reasonable level and all social workers receive high quality reflective supervision from their senior fieldwork manager. 

Social work is a leadership profession in which you’ll need to inspire, persuade and bring out the best in diverse groups of people. To help our social workers develop those skills they will benefit from our bespoke CPD and leadership development programmes with additional masterclasses which have been carefully designed with our partner Russell Group University to support them to work with purpose in a range of challenging settings to bring about change. We have clear social work and management training and career pathways. (See Advanced Practitioner framework and career pathway).

We are currently expanding our workforce to include additional Advanced Social Work Practitioners and Contact Liaison Officers who will provide a consistent contact point for families, carers and professionals allowing social workers to concentrate on more direct work out in the community.
