We have a full time (37 hours per week) Social Worker post in our Emergency Duty Team working on an 8 week rolling rota an example of which is attached. Social Workers work within the 8 week rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, for which you will receive additional enhancements for out of hours work.
Based at Manor Lane Depot, Social Workers provide an out of hours response service to emergency situations for Children and Young People's services. We provide a point of contact for advice and where necessary an immediate emergency service to individuals and families who are experiencing crisis.
You will be an experienced qualified and HCPC registered Social Worker with current experience in statutory children and families fieldwork services and be able to decision make and operate with a high level of professional autonomy. You will be able to assess risk and take appropriate action in emergency situations arising out of normal office hours and in cases of significant harm or protection, prepare reports as appropriate. Good knowledge of the legal and procedural framework for social work with children, young people and their families including the provisions for child protection, assessment and looked after children is required. You will need to be a car driver and have access to a car as public transport will not be accessible during out of hours.
