An exciting opportunity has arisen for Head Gardener at Sheffield Botanical Gardens.

Sheffield Botanical Gardens is the jewel in the crown of the UK’s greenest city. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual with excellent horticultural skills to lead our team of gardeners and volunteers in this Grade II listed garden.

Originally opened in 1836, this 19 acre garden has undergone a complete restoration in the last 20 years, including the restoration of the Pavilion glasshouses containing temperate plants from around the world. Garden areas include horticultural, botanical and educational areas ranging from the Mediterranean climate garden, through formal bedding displays to woodland and evolution gardens. The latest development was the completion of the new Dorothy Fox Education Centre opened in March this year.

This is a new role that will give you the opportunity to develop your own skills and knowledge in beautiful surroundings. Working with the Curator and Area Manager, you will help to steer the development and maintenance of the gardens as we enter this new, exciting phase of the garden’s development.
