Blue Badge: Disabled person's car parking badges

If you are disabled this scheme can help you to travel independently, either as a driver or passenger, by allowing you to park as close to your destination as possible.

There is no need to pay for independent advice about eligibility.

Simply apply to, or renew from ourselves for just the standard £10 fee (this is only charged for successful applications).

Check your eligibility

You may be automatically eligible if you receive any of the following:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance

  • War Pensioners Mobility Supplement

  • Armed Forces and reserved Forces Compensation Scheme

  • You are registered blind

  • Enhanced or Standard Rate with a score of 8 or above in the ‘Moving Around’ activity of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
The score of 8 or above does not include marks for planning a journey

If you are not automatically eligible, you will be assessed, by telephone, as part of the application process.

Fee: £10 (this is only charged for successful applications)

Beware of other websites that may charge more.

What you need to provide us with

  • Proof of your address (copy of a utility or council tax bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months)

  • Proof of identity (copy of your passport, both parts of your photo driving licence, birth certificate, adoption certificate, marriage or civil partnership certificate) If you are sending your driving licence we can also accept this copy as proof of address too

  • Proof that you receive any of the above awards or are registered blind

  • Passport standard photograph (if you are not sending in photo ID such as a passport or driving licence, you need a professional person to sign the back of your photo to say it is a true likeness – details in the guidance notes)
