The Sheffield Economy
Following years of decline during the 1980s, Sheffield's economy is going through a strong revival. Sheffield's economy is closely linked with that of Rotherham, recognised in the recent publication of the Sheffield-Rotherham Economic Report, a summary of which can be downloaded at the foot of this page. A labour market profile of Sheffeild is also available from the NOMIS website, which also holds a wide range of statistics for Sheffield and other areas.
This area of Facts & Figures has information on:
- Economic Profiles - A series of monthy economic profiles for Sheffield, beginning at October 2008
- Employment & Jobs - Including employment rates, working age population and job growth.
- Worklessness - Including claimant count unemployment and Incapacity Benefit claimants.
- Wealth & Incomes - Including Gross Value Added (GVA), average wages and average household incomes.
