Key Project Dates

The final step in the Project Definition Workshop is to discuss any key dates and milestones in the delivery of the project. These can later be used to help develop the Project Plan and influence the stages that a project is divided into.

Some example are:

  • The target date for overall completion.
  • The date of an externally set deadline (e.g. funding deadlines) so that any work necessary to meet the requirements can be scheduled.
  • Dates for when you want sub-elements of the project to be done by.
  • Dates when a resource is available for your project (e.g. if you have a rental slot for a piece of equipment)

Once this is complete, you are ready to Develop a Risk Strategy.
