What We Want to Achieve

Below is a brief description of the key documents that describe what we want to achieve. The links provide further information on each document.

A City of Opportunity, our Corporate Plan for 2008-11

Our vision for the Council and Sheffield. It includes what we will do over the next three years in order to deliver the vision, so that local people see the benefit in their daily lives.

City Strategy

Sheffield First Partnership brings together the public, private, voluntary, community and faith sectors to work together to make Sheffield a successful city. Part of this work involves producing a City Strategy that sets out the steps we and our partners will take to achieve our vision for Sheffield.

Local Area Agreements (LAA)

Are three-year agreements between a local area, represented by the local authority and key partners through the Local Strategic Partnerships, and the Government.

LAAs set out the key priorities and improvement targets for local authority areas. Our LAA, called the Sheffield First Agreement (SFA), will be a key mechanism for delivering the priorities set out in the Sheffield City Strategy over the next three years.

Directorate Plans

Our four Directorates (departments) produces annual Directorate Plans which set out what they aim to achieve in the year ahead to contribute to the delivery of our Corporate Plan.

Service Plans

Our Directorates are made up of a number of services (eg ‘Streetforce’ or ‘Housing Strategy’). Each of the services produces their own annual Service Plan. We will publish the Service Plans after their approval by the Council's Cabinet on 8th April.
