Local Land Charges
The Local Land Charges Team provides a service to the local and national legal community providing information from the Local Land Charges Register that is designed to ensure that purchasers of land and property are not caught unawares by obligations enforceable against successive owners.
The Local Land Charges Office is located on the ground floor of Sheffield Town Hall. The entrance to the reception is on Pinstone Street.
Visitors can call at the Local Land Charges reception between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm from Monday to Friday, except Public Holidays. Please call us to make an appointment if you want to do your own personal search.

We also have a 24 hour advice line regarding fees etc on (0114) 273 4039. You can email the Land Charges Team at landcharges@sheffield.gov.uk.
Searches
A local land charge search is made up of two elements, the LLC1 Form and the CON29R Form of Enquiry. The LLC1 form requests the search, whilst the CON29R form is more specific, listing numerous questions about developments around the area surrounding the property, such as major road proposals or traffic schemes.
