Extended Payments

You can now extend your Council Tax payments through to March 2007. This means that for a full year you can reduce your monthly payments by spreading the cost over 12 months instead of the usual 10

 

If you register after 25 February we will still extend your instalments to March and send you a new bill, but you may not receive a full 12 instalments. The number of instalments you will get depends on when you register to extend your payments, the 14 days notice we give you required by the Direct Debit scheme and the payment date you choose.

 

 

The amount you have to pay in Council Tax each year is worked out as a single amount, then divided by 10 to produce a bill that you pay from April to January. By extending your instalments to include February and March, you can spread the cost.

 

For example, if your Council Tax charge for the year was £887, your 10 monthly instalments will be £88.70 per month. If you choose to extend your payments to 12 months, your monthly instalment would be £73.92.

 

 

The only thing we ask is that you pay by Direct Debit. If you pay your Council Tax by direct debit, you can choose a payment date that suits you. Pick from 1st, 7th, 15th, 23rd or last day in the month. No more queueing, no more cheques to write and no more reminder letters from us. Just set it up and we will do the rest.

We all know that paying Council Tax is a large part of most peoples monthly household bills. Many of our customers have been asking us to do something about spreading this cost more evenly throughout the year.

 

As a result of these requests, we have made some changes to our systems and can now offer to assist you with your bills. 

 

 

All you need to do is register below and we will do the rest.

 

If you already pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit, we will update your account and send you a new bill that spreads the charge through to March.

 

If you don't currently pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit we will telephone you in the next few days for your bank details.
