PUBLIC INSPECTION OF DOCUMENTS AND ACCESS TO MEETING
           
(a)            Members of the public who wish to attend the Board meeting should report to the First Point Reception desk at the Old Town Hall, Pinstone Street entrance, where you will be directed to the meeting room.
           
(b)       You can see the reports to be discussed in public at the meeting if you call at the First Point Reception, Old Town Hall, Pinstone Street entrance.  The Reception is open between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Monday - Thursday and between 9.00 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. on Friday, or you can ring on telephone no. 2734552.  You may not be allowed to see some reports because they contain confidential information.  These items are usually marked * on the agenda.
           
(c)        A copy of the agenda and minutes are available on the Council’s website at www.sheffield.gov.uk.
           
(d)       Board Meetings are normally open to the public but sometimes Members may have to discuss an item in private.  If this happens, you will be asked to leave.  Any private items are normally left till last.
(e)            Members of the City Council can obtain further information on any of the agenda items by speaking to Martyn Riley on telephone no. 273 4008.

To agree a date for any site visits required in connection with planning applications prior to the next meeting of the Board.

(a)            Outstanding Petitions List

(b)       New Petition
To report the receipt of petitions (i) containing 17 signatures regarding the worsening traffic and parking situation on Priestly Street, as vehicles are unable to enter Queens Road from Duchess Road, (ii) 40 signatures from shop owners at Jordanthorpe Shopping Centre drawing attention to the disused toilet facility and requesting its removal and highlighting the unsatisfactory state of the adjoining area and (iii) containing 106 signatures calling upon the City Council to install a pedestrian crossing or traffic island on Psalter Lane, at an appropriate location between Clifford Road and Sharrow Lane, before a serious accident occurs.

9.            APPEALS
To note that (a) the First Secretary of State has received appeals against the decision of the City Council to refuse planning permission:-
(i)         at its meeting held on 29th October, 2007, for the demolition of the existing student halls of residence, annex and associated buildings, including temporary structures around the experimental gardens on land at Crookes Road and 26, 28 and 30 Taptonville Road (Case No. 07/01379/CAC);
(ii)        at its meeting held on 17th September, 2007, for the extension and alterations/raising of the roof to form 17 flats and alterations to second floor offices to form 9 flats at Broompark House, 200 Broomhall Street (Case No. 07/02028/FUL); and
(iii)       under delegated powers, for the erection of 24 apartments on land adjacent to 24 Bassledene Road (Case No. 07/04072/FUL); and
(b)       an appeal submitted to the First Secretary of State against the decision of the City Council to refuse permission, under delegated powers, for 2 x non-illuminated freestanding linked hoardings on a car park adjacent to The Mega Centre, Bernard Road (Case No. 07/02296/HOARD) has been withdrawn.
