RECORD OF EXERCISE OF DELEGATED POWERS

23RD TO 29TH SEPTEMBER, 2004

NAME OF CABINET MEMBER:            Councillor Gill Furniss

NATURE OF DECISION:            That approval be given to (a) the proposed refurbishment by the Sheffield City Trust of the Community Athletics Stadium, Woodburn Road and to approve the Council as the current owner of the Stadium accepting the grant award entering into the necessary agreement with the English Sports Council; (b) the proposed refurbishment by the Trust and the transfer of the grant payments to the Trust, subject to them complying with the conditions of grant required by the English Sports Council, particularly but not exclusively those concerning construction and development of the facility; and (c) a report being prepared seeking Cabinet approval to a lease being granted for a period of up to 21 years to the Trust for the Woodburn Road Athletics Stadium and the inclusion within the lease of the award conditions and responsibility for complying with the award conditions.

NATURE OF DECISION:  In order to permit the delivery of Learning and Skills Council Further Education Funded Provision, approval be given for the Council to enter into a Franchise Agreement/Service Level Agreement/Contract for Services with the providers identified in the report with the detailed terms being agreed by the Head of Regeneration and Partnership.
