METROPOLITAN DISTRICT
COUNCIL SUMMONS
Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Council of the City of Sheffield
will be held in the Council Chamber within the Town Hall, Sheffield, on
Wednesday, 2nd November, 2005, at 2.05 p.m., or at the conclusion of the
Special Meeting of the Council, whichever should be the later.
THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS IS PROPOSED TO BE TRANSACTED-
1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS COUNCIL MEETINGS
To receive the record of the proceedings of the meetings of the Council held on 5th October, 2005 and to approve the accuracy thereof.
2. PUBLIC QUESTIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS
To receive any questions or communications from the public, or communications submitted by the Lord Mayor or the Chief Executive and to pass such resolutions thereon as the Standing Orders permit and as may be deemed expedient.
3. DEVELOPING THE ROLE OF THE SCRUTINY AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT BOARDS
To receive a presentation by Gareth Wall, Research and Information Adviser at the Centre for Public Scrutiny, on recent developments in relation to the local authorities’ public scrutiny function.
4. REPRESENTATION
To consider any changes to the memberships and arrangements for meetings of Boards etc., delegated authority, and the appointment of representatives to serve on other bodies, and to pass such resolutions thereon as the Standing Orders permit and as may be deemed expedient.
5. QUESTIONS RELATING TO URGENT BUSINESS
To consider any questions relating to urgent business, for which notice has been given in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order A18(6).
6. ITEMS REFERRED TO COUNCIL
PARK HILL REDEVELOPMENT
To consider a decision which was referred by the Cabinet at its meeting held on 12th October, 2005.
PROTOCOL FOR THE SCRUTINY OF HEALTH IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE
To consider a decision which was referred by the Health and Community Care Scrutiny and Policy
Development Board at its meeting held on 17th October, 2005.
PROTOCOL FOR THE SCRUTINY OF HEALTH IN SHEFFIELD
To consider a decision which was referred by the Children and Young People Scrutiny and Policy
Development Board at its meeting held on 19th October, 2005.
SHEFFIELD CHILDREN’S NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE TRUST – APPLICATION FOR
FOUNDATION TRUST STATUS
To consider any decision which may be referred by the Cabinet at its meeting on 26th October, 2005.
HIGHWAY AUTHORITY REVIEW
To consider any decision which may be referred by the Cabinet at its meeting on 26th October, 2005.
7. OBSERVATIONS
To receive observations on the minutes of the meetings of the various Council bodies for the period 17th September to 14th October, 2005.
