Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Council
of the City of Sheffield will be held in the Council Chamber within the Town Hall, Sheffield, on Wednesday, 21st May, 2008 at 11.30 a.m.
Public Inspection of Documents and Access to Meetings Council Meetings are open to the public. Admittance to the public gallery can be gained via the First Point Reception, Old Town Hall, Pinstone Street. Details of the business to be transacted can be viewed in advance at the First Point Reception which is open between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and between 9.00 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. on Friday, or you can ring on telephone no. 2734552. A copy of the Council Summons and any reports are also available on the Council’s website at www.sheffield.gov.uk. |
The following business is proposed to be transacted-
1. To elect a Lord Mayor for the ensuing Year.
2. To move a Vote of Thanks to the Retiring Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress.
3. To appoint a Deputy Lord Mayor for the ensuing year.
4. To appoint the Leader of the Council and members of the Cabinet, the Deputy Leader, the Scrutiny and Policy and Development Boards, the Audit Committee, the Standards Committee, Regulatory Boards, Area Panels etc., together with Chairs etc of such bodies where appropriate, and representatives on other bodies and to other posts, for the year 2008/2009; to approve the Cabinet Portfolios and the terms of reference of the Boards and Panels etc., as necessary, and to affirm any other necessary arrangements for the implementation of the revised structures for 2008/2009.
