Meeting to be held on 19th November, 2003, at 6.30 p.m. at the
Newfield Green Tenants Hall, Newfield Green, Gleadless Road

(Doors open at 5.45 p.m.; tea, coffee and biscuits served 5.45 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.)

2.	PUBLIC QUESTIONS AND PETITIONS
	To receive public questions and petitions.

3.	REPORTS AND TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION
	The main topic for discussion for the meeting is promoting Greener, Cleaner, Safer Greenspaces. There will be displays about the Summer holiday activities and reports about work taking place to improve local green spaces across the South Area with a particular focus on Gleadless Valley. The Panel is inviting comment and contributions from local people on how the projects should develop and how the City Council can improve local green spaces for everyone to enjoy. There will be reports on the following:-
	(a) A brief update by Heeley City Farm on a new Composting Service to be run from the Blackstock Road Recycling Centre;
	(Paper herewith – “A”)
	(b) An update from the Ranger Service of the Parks, Woodlands and Countryside Service on the Service’s work across the area and new work being done through ‘Greenwatch’ to make green spaces safer and more attractive;
	(c) A presentation by VYPA (Valley Young Peoples Action) on the work being done to provide more activities on the Gleadless Valley;
	(d) A presentation by Sheffield Wildlife Trust on the work the Trust is doing to promote the use of green spaces by the local community and to design new play spaces with the community.

5.	NEXT MEETING
	(a) To note that a Special Meeting is to be held on Tuesday 16th December, 2003 between 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. in the Town Hall. There is to be a ‘market place event’ between 4.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m., where local people can talk to officers from key Services and have a say about the priorities for action in their neighbourhoods. There is also to be a meeting between 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m., involving a Senior Police Officer for the South Policing District, to consider Crime and Community Safety issues in the Area; and (b) To note that the following meeting of the Panel is to be held on 20th January, 2004 at 6.30 p.m. at Woodseats Methodist Church, Holmhirst Road.
