Report re Shirecliffe Youth Club

 

 

Consultation History:         Concerns have been raised at previous meetings about lack of youth provision in Shirecliffe. A youth group has been formed, but there has been some debate over where it could be based.

Þ    At the last SOAR Board / Area Panel meeting it was reported that Shirecliffe Community Project had been approached and asked whether a room at the Community Centre could be used by the Youth Group.

 

Þ    SCP had a number of concerns, including a lack of staff to supervise the youth group and the fact that no money had been found to pay for room hire at the Community Centre.

 

Þ    After a meeting between Vernon Colleymore (Sheffield Futures), Jo Willis (Activity Sheffield), Sheryl Roberts (Shirecliffe Development Worker), Paul Howard (Parkwood High School) it was agreed that the Youth Group could be based at Parkwood High School. The group should start in the next few weeks.
