Your Say 2007: Safety

Your Council Your Say

Autumn 2007

Throughout October 2007 we asked you for your views on safety.

Sheffield is one of the safest cities in the country, we asked how we keep it that way and what we can do to improve.  There was a marquee at the top of Fargate on the 28th and 29th September and stands at Hillsborough and Crystal Peaks shopping centres on the 5th and 6th October.

Sheffield City Council lead the event with support from the Safer Communities Partnership, South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, 101 and Sheffield Homes.

These events focused on two areas:

  • Letting residents know what is currently being done by the Council and partners to tackle safety issues

  • What residents can do to help - how local actions can tackle local and city issues

There was a questionnaire for residents to complete. A paper copy of the questionnaire was available to complete over the period of Your Council, Your Say and was also available on the Council’s website.

Nearly a thousand questionnaires were completed.
