Access to Work
Access to work is a programme run by Jobcentre Plus to remove practical barriers that disabled people face in work. We encourage our staff and disabled applicants to use Access to Work if it would be beneficial for them.
Access to Work can provide help for disabled people in a number of ways including:
- A communicator (for example an interpreter in interviews)
- A support worker
- Special aids and equipment in the workplace
- Grants for travel to work; and
- Adaptations to premises and equipment.
