Tell us what you think of us
We're asking local people exactly what they think of our services and how they can be improved.
We were given 4 stars, the top mark, by the Audit Commission in an annual assessment called the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) – and for the fifth year in a row.
A comments box is available below. All the comments we receive will be fed back into the relevant service so that they can work to improve further for the people of Sheffield.
Cllr Paul Scriven, Leader of Sheffield City Council, says:
“A lot of hard work has gone into achieving this rating across the Council and we thank our staff for that. Although the inspectors have told us that we deserve 4 stars, we know that it’s actually local people who are the real judges on this. They are the ones who use Council services day in, day out and it’s their comments and what they think of the Council that matters to us the most.“Customer satisfaction with us and our services is vitally important and we know we have to improve our residents’ experiences of us. So I am calling on Sheffielders to take that step and help us improve even more in the future. Come forward and give us your views - after all, Sheffield is a city where everyone matters so by standing shoulder to shoulder with us, local residents can truly feel proud of their local Council and the services they receive. ”
This is the final year of the CPA, which is being succeeded by a new assessment regime - the Comprehensive Area Assessment from April.
The assessment also focuses on the core areas of work that local authorities provide. Each of the areas is rated from 1 – 4. We've maintained our scores from last year, improving to the maximum score this year for Adult Social Care.
The CPA also includes assessments of core service areas:
- Adult Social Care – 4/4
- Children’s Services – 3/4
- Housing Services – 3/4
- Benefits Services - 3/4
- Cultural Services - 3/4
- Environmental Services - 2/4
- Corporate Assessment - 4/4
The corporate assessment looks at how we are run, how we work with our partners, our ambitions and ability to achieve.
The CPA result also includes an assessment of ‘direction of travel’ for us. We've been judged as ‘improving well’ by the inspectors – the same as in previous years.
