A New City Centre Profile
New 'Connect Sheffield' City Centre Map
To make the city centre easier to understand, the Council, Passenger Transport Executive and other partners will all use the new 'Connect Sheffield' city centre map.
This covers the area within the Inner Relief Road and also the University of Sheffield campus, the western hospitals and Kelham Island, giving the distinctive new 'fish' shape.

When, Where, How and Why?
When and Where?
Work on improving transport and public space projects has already started and will run until 2009. These initiatives are explained in this exhibition. They will affect everyone who uses of the city centre.
How?
There will be some disruption and congestion during this time. Changes will be advertised well in advance and a telephone helpline will be available to advise you on how to replan your journey after changes to road pattern.
Why?
Transport and public space improvements around the city centre are an important part of making Sheffield a prosperous, attractive, and modern European city. They are closely linked to development projects currently underway, such as the six priority projects featured in the Sheffield One Masterplan and presented in an exhibition on Fargate.
