Sheffield Interchange

Locations of Proposed Interchanges and improved taxi ranks
Sheffield Interchange on Pond Street remains very important for passengers arriving in the City Centre and for changing between buses. However, over the last ten years many services have re-routed closer to central shops and other destinations.

Now, high quality on-street bus interchanges will be developed where most people get on or off buses, allowing the Interchange to be redesigned on a reduced scale with a tighter customer focus.

New Interchanges

Passenger Information Centre for Arundel Gate
These new interchanges will include improved weather protection, real-time information on services, clearer timetables and access to phone and dataweb touchscreens. Some will also have staffed information kiosks, vending facilities, public toilets and general visitor information, all contained in new, distinctive shelters.

Interchanging between Car, Train, Supertram and Bus will be improved by more Park and Ride facilities, better signing and closer connections. The proposed extension of Supertram would provide further attractive options. Taxi facilities will be improved, providing better shelter and lighting for passengers. New shelters at the two largest ranks at the Railway Station and Barkers Pool will be provided as a result of changes.
