Summary of Feedback

We ask for and receive feedback about everything that the Housing Independence Service does, including managing the local Supporting People programme.

We now publish a summary of feedback we have received every 3 months, and tell you what we have done as a result of that feedback.  The table below shows the feedback we have received between January 2008 and March 2008. Summaries from earlier periods can be found in the document list at the bottom of this page. (Note that summaries before September 2007 were every six months)

We will publish the next 3-monthly summary in July 2008.

The summary shows what type of feedback we have received (comments / suggestions, complaints, enquiries from Councillors and compliments) and what the feedback was about (accessibility, staff attitude, service quality, policy/legislation, costs / charges and others)

What we have done about this feedback.

Comments:

We received one comment about the accessibility of our web pages:
  • Following a comment about one of our web pages was not fully accessible for people with visual difficulties, we have revised the content of that page, and reviewed the rest of our web pages.

Complaints:

We received one complaint about our service quality:
  • This alleged we had not responded to letters from the complainant. We investigated the complaint, and found that we had not received one of the letters, and we did action the points in the other. Although we did not reply directly to this letter, we felt our normal payment notification processes made a reply unnecessary. We contacted the complainant and explained these points, and also reminded them of our normal processes. We do not feel it is necessary to change our payments processes as a result of this complaint.
  • One concerned the role of Supporting People in the leasing of a Council property to a Housing Association for use as a hostel. We are investigating the delay further.
  • One centred around the lack of referrals of service users, by the City Council, to a service funded by Supporting People. We are working with the team concerned to resolve the problem.
