Supported Accommodation in Sheffield
The Supporting People programme is committed to providing a better quality of life for vulnerable people to live more independently, and to maintain their tenancies. The programme provides housing-related support to prevent problems that can often lead to hospitalisation, institutional care or homelessness, and can help to smooth the transition to independent living for those leaving an institutionalised environment.
 
Locally, the programme is managed by the Housing Independence Service in Sheffield City Council, which contracts with about 70 organisations to provide housing-related support to clients in around 250 different services.
There is currently a range of directories available for supported housing projects in Sheffield, and we have included links to some below:
 
Services For Vulnerable People (SVP) Directory.
This on-line directory, compiled by Sheffield Supporting People, lists all support services that currently receive Supporting People funding. If you have any questions about the directory, please contact supportingpeople@sheffield.gov.uk.
 
There are other directories of services providing different levels of support in Sheffield, and some of these are listed on the Directories page. This also includes other places you can go for help or advice.
