About us...

Sheffield is changing. Already rated as an excellent authority we are at the cutting edge of change in Children’s services and have a strong vision to ensure that all children and young people are both high achieving and emotionally well. Following a successful Joint Area Review (JAR) inspection, we recognise that there is still much to do to make our vision a reality in our increasingly diverse communities. We are committed to driving forward improvements as we strive to meet the challenges of raising attainment in schools within the city.

We are passionate about improving the lives of the children and young people within the city.

Within the Children & Young People's Social Care Service we have a range of different teams meeting the needs of our local communities. We offer a 24 /7 service thus allowing Social Workers a diverse choice of teams and hours of work.

Within the service we offer specialist teams working at a number of access points across the city specialising in short term assessment work, we work with a number of children on the Child Protection Register and those who are 'Looked After' by the Local Authority. We also have a specialist Permanency & Throughcare team who work with children and young people on a long term basis.

The diversity of the teams allows Social Workers to develop specialist skills with their chosen client group.
