The Sheffield NHS website has a wealth of information about how to contact local GPs, hospitals, primary care trusts, dentists, opticians and pharmacies - including a facility where you can search for these services using your postcode.
You can also get a great deal of information and advice about health services from NHS Direct.
There is also lots of good advice and information on health issues on their website.
Or you can telephone the NHS Direct helpline on 0845 46 47. This is a 24 hour health advice and information service. You can contact the service:
- to find out what to do if a family member feels ill
- for details of a particular health condition
- for details of local healthcare services, such as doctors, dentists, late night opening pharmacies.
