Independent Living Fund
Who can use it?
Independent Living Fund (ILF) is available for all impairments
- People aged 16 – 65 years
- Need to be on High Rate of DLA care component
- In receipt or assessed as needing at least £200 per week care from Social Services
- Have capital of less than £18,500
- Have the ability and desire to live independently for at least 6 months
How much can people get?
ILF can provide up to £395 per week. Joint funding (Social Services and ILF) cannot exceed £665 per week within the first 6 months; other funding can go on top.
What can ILF be used for?
- Personal Care – including social and leisure
- Essential Domestic Care
