Longley Hill Resource Centre
We’ve decided to decommission Longley Hill Resource Centre, and go ahead with the investment of more staff in the three other resource centres in Sheffield. By making these changes we aim to establish a citywide service that will provide even better intermediate care and reablement services for older people in Sheffield.
Our decision was not taken lightly. We considered all the comments made during the consultations over the future of Longley Hill before reaching our decision. Cath Roff, Director of Adults’ Services, and Councillor Mick Rooney, Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, agreed that the advantages of making the changes to the Care4you resource centres were greater than the concerns and objections, and that most of the concerns could be met by making sure that alternative services are made available elsewhere.
