Simplified Access
The “Simplified access” study was commissioned by the POPPs Programme Board to examine how health and social care, and other linked public service organisations could realistically change the way they work so that older people and carers can more easily get advice, information and help without “searching high and low” or being passed from “pillar to post”.
Final report
Consultation on the draft Simplified Access Strategy is now complete and the final report is now available. The report includes over thirty recommendations aimed at improving access to services for older people and their carers. Work has now begun on looking at how these can be delivered.
Implementation strategy
A draft implementation strategy has been developed and it concentrates on delivering the outcomes older people said they wanted to see. It's expected that the majority of the work outlined in phase one will be completed within the next eighteen months.
