Task Carers Sue & Norman
How long have you been foster carers and why did you go into fostering?
28 Years. I was a childminder and my children wanted other children at home when they came home from school so we went into fostering which also meant I could be at home all the time.
What kind of fostering do you do and why?
Task Fostering (short term) and Emergency 24/7 (Out of Hours). I want to help children to have a secure place while things at home are not going well.
How many children have you fostered?
I’ve fostered 260+ children aged from birth to 15 years old.
Best memory of Fostering?
There are too many memories to name just one and they are nearly all wonderful!
Do you have children of your own? How do they feel about fostering?
I have 2 grown up daughters, 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. They all loved it when they were young; they used to think we could just pick children out like food at a supermarket!
Why should someone go into fostering?
If you have patience, time and love to spare you could foster. There are children out there needing you!
