Our foster carers love fostering! They talk here about their experiences, the highs and lows and the tremendous job satisfaction they get from looking after children.
Foster Carers who have been caring for Sheffield Children for over 30 years!
- Anne has been a foster carer for 39 years! She went into fostering simply because she wanted to take care of children. She has fostered over 100 children.
Long Term Fostering (Permanence)
- Petrona has been a foster carer for around 20 years, she started fostering to help children and for company for her son.
- Janice and Philip have been foster carers for about 9 years, they went into fostering for company for their own child and to help other children who needed it.
Short term fostering (Task)
- June has been a foster carer for about 5 years, she'd thought about fostering for years, when the firm she worked for closed down she finally took the plunge.
- Dave and Betty have been foster carers for around 5 years. They went into fostering after talking to a friend who was a foster carer, to offer a home to vulnerable children.
- Sue and Norman have been foster carers for around 29 years. Sue was originally a childminder and loved having lots of children around the house, they have looked after more than 300 children!
