Commemorative Memorials

After a cremation service, relatives and friends often feel the need to commemorate their loved one with a commemorative memorial.
The remembrance facilities at City Road Cemetery and the Garden of Remembrance, adjoining Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium are as follows:
Bronze Memorial Plaques
For a simple yet formal memorial, a bronze plaque may be an appropriate tribute. Two plaque sizes are available - kerb and wall plaques.
These are available at the Garden of Remembrance , City Road Cemetery and Burncross Cemetery columbarium. All plaques are sold on 15 year leases, renewable at the expiry date.
Book of Remembrance
These are contained in Remembrance Rooms at both City Road Cemetery and the Hall of Remembrance at Hutcliffe Wood Garden of Remembrance.
The name of deceased and personal inscription may be entered in the Book of Remembrance which may then be viewed once per year on a chosen date which could be date of death, birthday or other anniversary.
Leather Memorial Panels
These dark blue leather panels are inscribed with gold leaf, bearing the name of deceased and chosen inscription.
The panels are then displayed within an oak frame and are available at both City Road Cemetery and Hutcliffe Wood Garden of Remembrance. The panels remain in place for 5 years.
Memorial Wall Niches
These polished granite niches are large enough to accept two caskets of cremated remains. The large memorial plate not only ensures the safety of the remains but provides ample space for inscription. The niches are available at the Gardens of Remembrance within the formal garden area.
A choice of design can be selected for the ornamentation , or a small plaque can be incorporated with a photograph of your loved one. A small bronze posy vase is provided for floral tributes.
All Memorial Wall Niches are leased for 10 or 15 years, with the option of renewal at the end of this period.
