Bereavement Services

We're responsible for two crematoria in Sheffield City Road and Hutcliffe Wood (including the Gardens of Remembrance) and for 16 cemeteries within the city boundary. We also manage the closed General Cemetery in partnership with the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust.

Bereavement Services also includes the Medico Legal Centre, which consists of the Public Mortuary and HM Coroner Service and Sheffield University Department of Forensic Pathology.

 

We realise that we provide a very sensitive service to the public and our aim is to deliver these services in accordance with the needs and beliefs of the bereaved in an efficient and dignified manner.
