Join the Sheffield Car Club. There are 12 cars, in reserved parking spaces in the city centre, that members of the public and organisations are using for a wide variety of journeys. This pay-by-the-hour cars scheme, run by WhizzGo, could save you the cost and hassle of having your own car.
Use it to see a friend, do the shopping, get to your evening class or nip out to the Peak District for a few hours.

How does it work?
Whether you are an individual or an organisation becoming a member, most of the details around how the Car Club works for you are the same.
- Car Club cars bookable for periods of the day via the WhizzGo website or by phone. Entry to cars is done by swiping a smart card.
- Parking spaces are reserved for Car Club cars in the city centre - you pick the car up from that location and return it there.
- Cost - from £4.95 per hour, with discounted packages if you commit to a particular level of usage. Individuals pay an annual membership fee of £49.50 (from May 2008). Membership fees for organisations vary.

How do I join?
Individuals can contact WhizzGo directly to join up. Go to the WhizzGo website and read the information pages before clicking on 'Join Now' or phone them on 08444 77 99 66. WhizzGo can process your application in a day - which will include verifying that you have a driving licence - and will post your smart card to your home address.
Organisations are asked to contact the Council first - see details below. A meeting will be arranged with WhizzGo to discuss your operational needs and talk about price packages.
