Car Share South Yorkshire is a website for people in the county to find others to share a car journey with - giving and taking lifts.
When you register it records where you want to travel and shows on a map people taking a similar route.

Why car share?
By car sharing you could share the cost of your journey with someone else. And if you both used to drive on your own you would be taking one more car off the road. This helps the environment, reducing vehicle emissions and congestion.
How do I use it?
- Sign up / register
- Enter your journey details and your preferences (e.g. smoking/non-smoking)
- Search for other drivers or passengers to share your journey with
- Make contact by email through the website
When I register, which details become public?
Details that can be seen when the website matches one person with another are:
- First name (or nickname)
- Where each journey starts and finishes (road or postcode sector)
- What time the journey is made and how often
- Gender, age group and smoking preference
How can my organisation get involved?
If you are an organisation that would like to promote car sharing to people that travel to your sites contact the Council (see below).
