Traffic Management
The Traffic Management Group has a joint responsibility with the Traffic Control Group for maintaining the flow of traffic around the city.
The Group is able to effect changes in the way traffic uses the city’s roads through the careful use of traffic signing and road markings.
Typical signs which can help, include direction, warning and information signs. These can assist the general motorist as well as cyclists and pedestrians.
Road markings and lettering can be used to help people choose the correct lane on roads and to warn of hazards, such as bends or junctions.
Simple measures like this can often solve highway safety issues by providing clarity and guidance.
