Travel Pledge

Your travel can affect air quality and climate change.  Think of all the fumes pumped into the atmosphere by cars and other vehicles everyday in Sheffield.  But you can help the Council to make a difference by pledging to change how you travel.

Small changes can make a big difference.  With the cost of car travel rising this could save you money too.

Make your Travel Pledge just one day a week before 16 September and you will automatically be entered into a free prize draw for great prizes, including a one month travel pass (but remember to give us your contact details).

What can I pledge?

Making a travel pledge is about changing your weekly travel to a way that produces fewer fumes or frees up more space on the road.

Giving or getting a lift is better than you driving on your own, because you’re probably taking one car off the road as a result.  Public Transport (bus, tram, train) is even better by having many people in the same vehicle.  Cycling and walking produces no vehicle emissions at all.

Not everyone will be able to change how they travel, but if you can you would be making a valuable contribution.

For information about how to make that change see Travel Options.
