Building Schools for the Future
Building Schools for the Future - Silverdale School - Associated Highway Proposals
Planning consent for the erection of a replacement secondary school and sports facilities on the existing Silverdale School site was granted on 19th December 2006. The new school is one of the developments within the Building Schools for the Future programme.
A report about highway proposals relating to this was considered by the Council’s City Centre South & East Planning & Highways Area Board on 16th June.
The Board heard representations from a nominated spokesperson and fully considered the points raised. It was resolved that Option 1 be approved:
- Narrowing of Bents Crescent, at its junction with Bents Drive (common to all 3 options)
- Introduction of a 75mm high plateau at this junction
The plateau will make the school entrance more visible and provide formal crossing points at this location.
See the report (Building Schools for the Future - Silverdale School - Associated Highway Proposals) for more information. This includes a plan of the approved scheme.
