Sheffield on the Move
Sheffield on the Move is a new forum for local people’s views, ideas, suggestions and experiences of transport and congestion in the city.
Sheffield on the Move is made up of representatives from existing transport forums, key decision makers and the public.
The first meeting of the forum took place on Tuesday 16 September 2008 at the Town Hall. It was chaired by Alan Whitehouse (BBC’s North of England Transport Correspondent) and had a “Question Time” style format to a select panel:
- John Bann - Head of Transport and Highways, Sheffield City Council
- Anita Brough - Chair, Transport Forum, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Alan Powell - Editor, Sheffield Star
- Julie Hurley - Head of Strategic Planning, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive
- Professor Tony May - Research Professor in Transport Engineering, Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds
