Request for Non-regulatory 'H', 'KEEP CLEAR' or 'Disabled Bay' Markings
Non-regulatory markings, by their very nature, are only advisory and are not legally enforceable unlike yellow line waiting restrictions. However, they have been found to be successful at most locations where they are installed.
To apply for a non-regulatory marking we require you to fill in an application form, this can be found in the downloadable documents section of this page, along with our guidance notes. Copies are also available by contacting the department direct, contact details provided below.
Please note that the provision of these road markings is at the discretion of the City Council as Highway Authority, and completion of the application form does not guarantee that markings will be provided.
If the Council does agree to provide a marking, you will generally be requested to pay the cost. The current charges, inclusive of VAT, are:
- 'H' marking £ 100
- 'KEEP CLEAR' marking £ 130
- 'Disabled Bay' marking £ 120
If you are in receipt of Income Support or Pension Credit we will generally provide the marking free of charge.
Should you require further information please telephone (0114) 273 6894 or email Traffic_Regs@sheffield.gov.uk
