Crookesmoor Permit Parking Scheme

The Crookesmoor permit parking scheme came into operation on the 4th August 2008. The scheme is aimed at easing severe parking problems which have existed in the Crookesmoor area for many years. Measures include the introduction of permit parking, pay and display parking and waiting restrictions, applying Mondays to Fridays 8.00am and 6.30pm only. This will improve residents’ ability to park near their properties, create a turnover of parking spaces to benefit shoppers and business clients, and protect junctions and accesses from being obstructed.

If you park in this area please carefully check the signs and lines at that specific location and take care to comply with the restrictions.

With these changes, we’re trying to be fair to everyone who wants to park in the area, but it is difficult to get this kind of thing right first time, so we want to hear from local people about how it’s actually working on the ground. When the scheme has been in place for six months we will carry out a full review  and will listen and where possible act on feedback so that we improve the way that the scheme works.

Crookesmoor Review

We have recently consulted local people in and around Crookesmoor to see how effectively the current permit parking scheme is operating and whether any alterations could be made to improve the scheme.  See Crookesmoor review for the results so far.

Following the review, residents and businesses will receive a leaflet outlining changes we propose to make to the scheme. This is likely to be October/November 2009.
