Disabled Person's Parking

A Blue Badge
Disabled badge holders can park free of charge in any of the Council’s off-street car parks or on-street parking bays.

They may park for a maximum of three hours on single or double yellow lines where there are no loading / unloading restrictions that apply and providing they don’t cause an obstruction to other road users or pedestrians.

Disabled drivers who:

  • cause an obstruction at a junction
  • park in a way that traffic cannot flow freely
  • park where a loading or unloading restriction is in force
  • park in a taxi rank, a bus stop, a clearway, a bus stop or on a school “Keep Clear” marking

will be treated as any other driver and will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)

For more information about the blue badge scheme visit the Government site or the Council's Customer Services site.

Blue badge holders can apply for a disabled bay near to their home. Further information can be found at the Request for Non-regulatory 'H', 'KEEP CLEAR' or 'Disabled Bay' Markings page of the website. Subject to conditions.
