Sponsored Litter Bins

Keeping the City clean is something that we all should be concerned about.  The Council, is committed to reducing the amount of litter discarded on the streets.  Increasing the number of bins in an area does reduce the amount of carelessly discarded litter on the street.

 

One way of helping to tackle the litter bin problem in a specific area is through a partnership with the private sector to sponsor a litter bin.  By agreeing to sponsor a bin the organisation or individual would be able to have fixed to the bin a gold coloured plaque with black letters engraved with the sponsor's name and the wording "Helping to Keep Sheffield Clean".  The plaque is 30cm X 20cm.

 

Street Force provide and empty the litter bins adjacent to the highway and strive to increase the numbers of bins each year.  The partnership through sponsorship increases the number of bins on the street and provides bins in places where they serve a specific need.

 

The site for the bin would be jointly agreed between the sponsor and the Area Street Cleaning Manager.  Although we welcome suggestions for sites, it is subject to the result of a site survey to ensure the bin does not cause any access or safety problems.

 

If the bin becomes damaged we will repair it, if is destroyed by vandalism or a vehicle accident it will be replaced as part of the Street Force bin replacement programme.  If the plaque is destroyed a replacement can be ordered and fixed by Street Force but there is a charge for this.

 

The all inclusive price for sponsoring a litter bin is £350 (exclusive of vat).
