Street Force - Highway Design

We design all of the Councils highway schemes; these vary in value and complexity from minor road traffic calming schemes to major highways projects such as the Inner Relief Road (from the Parkway to Penistone Road) and Sheaf Square at the railway station. We also design non-highway work such as the Peace Gardens and Barkers Pool.

 

The highway design office is based at Carbrook (on Carbrook Hall Road, near the Meadowhall Retail Park in Sheffield) and has a staff of 30 plus. All aspects of the highway are designed in the office including signals, signs, lines, road markings and the highway.

 

We also design alterations to the public highway to allow developers to build houses, flats, factories and shops, for example the flats in the city centre and the Meadowhall shopping complex.
