Community Toilet Scheme
We are looking for ways to increase the number of public toilet facilities available in locations throughout Sheffield. One of the ways to do this is to work in partnership with the private commercial sector.
We are looking to businesses to participate in this scheme which will allow the public to use your facilities during normal opening hours without the need to buy goods or services.
Through partnership we aim to:
- Increase the number of toilets accessible to people visiting, shopping and investing in Sheffield
- Encourage increased trade for members of the scheme
- Provide clean, safe and accessible toilets
- Address the problem of the reduction in numbers of public toilets in towns and cities throughout the UK
- Increase the number of toilets available for specialist user groups e.g. wheelchair users, the elderly, babies and young children
- Reduce crime and particularly public order offences
- Provide better information to users of toilet facilities throughout the City of Sheffield
Benefits to Businesses
- Patron Membership of the Sheffield Graffiti Charter. This entitles you to one free graffiti removal from your premises followed by further 3 graffiti cleaning visits per year free of charge.
- A cigarette bin fixed to your premises free of charge or chewing gum removal carried out outside your premises free of charge, up to 50 square metres
- A floral hanging basket fitted and maintained each year of scheme membership or your business name on a planter or litter bin crediting your organisation for being a partner in the scheme
- Publicity on leaflets advertising the Community Toilet Scheme
