Where our performance was more than 15% below our target we will give a full explanation below.  These areas of concern will be addressed as part of our future Service Plans.

Areas where we can do better

Time taken to remove fly tips

Sometimes specialist equipment is required to collect and dispose of fly tipped rubbish (e.g. a build up of builders waste).  Such cases may take longer to resolve whilst arrangements are made for removal.

Putting matters right:

The volume of this type of fly tipped rubbish is difficult to predict.  To combat the problem at source our Council enforcement officers undertake sting operations to catch rogue unlicensed hauliers.   In addition a local radio campaign to encourage members of the public to provide information to enable the City Council to catch fly tippers has been run.
