Walking in Sheffield - your say
Sheffield Pedestrian Strategy: 2010 - 2016
Walking is a free, healthy and enjoyable way to travel. It can be for the whole journey or just some of it, like walking from the car park or to a bus stop. It also doesn't produce any vehicle emissions that can contribute to climate change and poor air quality.
The Sheffield Pedestrian Strategy sets out how the City Council will make the most of opportunities for people who walk and who could walk more.
How we are developing it
A draft Strategy was produced following initial work with and input from a citizen’s panel, health groups, disability groups and other interested parties. Download this at the bottom of the page. During this time we looked at the issues that face the city when trying to promote walking and the issues that are important to the people of Sheffield when they walk in the city.
Following the production of the draft strategy we asked for comments from the public as well as comments from our partners and stakeholders (e.g. organisations involved with health and travel). The survey results of this second stage of consultation are available to download at the bottom of this page.
The draft strategy will be revised, taking your comments into consideration, and once approved published here.
