Highway Adoptions

The Highways Adoptions Group ensure that all new roads that are to be adopted and maintained by the City Council as public highway are constructed in accordance with the approved plans and to the correct standard.

The Council has produced a number of information sheets regarding highway development.

Also in co-operation with the other three South Yorkshire Highway Authorities (Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham) together with the PTE we have produced design guidance for residential and industrial developments and a technical appendix detailing design information and materials specification.
