Admissions to School 2009/10

 
Here are details of how to apply for a school place if your child is transferring from primary to secondary school, from a separate infant to junior school or starting full time education for the first time in the 2009/10 academic year.
 
Please refer to A guide for Parents 2009/10 before making an application.
 

Apply Online

 
You can now apply for a school place using our online admissions site. Please be aware that you'll need at least Version 5 of Internet Explorer to view it.
 
You will be able to access the site for admissions from the following dates:
 
  • Transfer to secondary school: 1st September 2008 - 17th October 2008
  • Transfer to junior school: 15th September 2008 – 28th November 2008
  • Entry into reception 2009/2010:1st September 2008 – 31st January 2009

Notification of Decisions and Appeals Process

 
You will be notified of the outcome of your application on the following dates:
 
  • Transfer to Secondary – 2nd March 2009
  • Transfer to Junior School – 31st March 2009
  • Entry into Reception 2009/2010  - 31st March 2009
 
If you are unhappy with the outcome of your application you may appeal to the Statutory Appeal Panel.

The new National Admission Code of Practice became effective from 28 February 2007 and re-inforced the requirement upon Local Authorities to have a protocol and for all schools to participate in it.  The Code changes the name from “Hard to Place” to “In-Year Fair Access” Protocol.  (222 KB)
