Urban Design services include:
- Planning Applications
Design advice to Development Control on planning applications. This is generally on more major or complex planning applications.
The Building for Life (BfL) model of residential design excellence is being used in Sheffield as our quality standard for measuring residential development proposals.
- Urban Design frameworks and planning briefs.
Urban Design Framework, Inner Relief Road, Stage 2 & 3, (2002). Produced to accompany the inner relief road (IRR) planning application and provide an indicative masterplan to assist the regeneration of this important city corridor.
- Design advice to the City Development Division on major City Centre projects.
- Urban Design Compendium.
A design guide for the whole of the City Centre has been produced. This provides guidance on how the on-going regeneration of the City Centre can be design led and sets a standard for architectural design and the quality of the public realm.
